When I think of wrought iron, my mind conjures up images of Bourbon Street lined in ancient homes with trellises and fretwork of green, black, and white swirls and curls. There is a timelessness to this material—both support and ornament.

Our cover features Iron Accents, home to some fascinating and truly beautiful works of art…many of which are crafted with—you guessed it—wrought iron. Both furniture and accessory pieces don’t have any of the colder attributes of functional metal—they create warm centerpieces for your home. This shop, worth the drive to Clermont, Georgia, is one of those places where nearly every visitor exclaims, “I’d like to have one of everything.”

Part of the charm of Iron Accents is the company you’ll keep while perusing the shop. It’s a family-run business, and warm from the moment you walk though the doors. Iron Accents is a great representation for our feature—Interior Design.

We’ve scoured the countryside for some interesting and informative articles about creating and implementing your perfect style. From bathrooms to wall covering—upscale to livable—we’ve tried to include a little something for everyone. Local designers give you their thoughts on what it takes to love your living space.

This month also showcases one of North Georgia’s most beautiful gems—vineyards and wineries. Wine Editor Nancy Forrest gives you the lowdown on her favorite labels from each vineyard, and a little about the vineyard itself. These vineyards are a great centerpiece for a weekend trip to the mountains—both picturesque and interesting.

As always, we’ve packed this issue with some of the most interesting things we’ve found. There are lots of fun happenings in North Georgia this month, and we knew you wouldn’t want to miss a thing.
