Quark Express says it 300 DPI, but you tell me my PDF is only 150 DPI, what's up? |

Many
applications have controls or automatically control the function of
exporting to PDF.
In some applications, this is a simple as a "save as"
and selecting PDF as the file type. Unfortunately, those applications
aren't really allowing you to control how the PDF is generated and
sometimes make invalid assumptions about the expected output.
If you are given options for exporting to a PDF
(and you might have to click an "advanced" or "more options" kind of
button), always go at least 300 DPI and 1200 DPI for line art...or
choose "largest file size." If you don't have any choices, then you are
probably not using a good tool for creating professionally printed
graphics.
