North Georgia Festivals Guide
Cover photo: Allison Reeves
Hooray! Fall is on the way!
The days are cooler, football has kicked off, and the festivals are here for
another issue. It’s one of the reasons this is our favorite season at 400 Edition. Along with more palatable
weather, we get to enjoy the fun of festivals in virtually every North Georgia community.
One of the largest festivals
we cover is the Cumming Country Fair & Festival held October 2 through
October 12 in—you guessed it—Cumming! Our friend Dave Horton, Fairgrounds
Manager, and his dedicated team, work all year long to make sure that each year
is better than the one before. Our cover features Ronnie Milsap, an entertainer
whose concert you won’t want to miss at the Fair. If you have enjoyed Mr.
Milsap’s songs in the past, be sure to read page 21 for information about how
he got there and where he’s headed in the future. Special thanks to Heather
Smith of Gold Mountain Entertainment for verifying information and Allyson
Reeves for the cover photo.
Since the Cumming Country
Fair & Festival is so jam-packed with attractions, shows, and special
deals, we’ve included their full schedule on page 21 so you won’t have to miss
a thing. Be sure to check out our favorite cultural and historic displays—the
Cherokee Indian and Heritage
Villages. Proof positive
that you can have fun and learn something, too.
This issue is filled to the
brim with festivals of all kinds. We especially treasure those that work to
preserve the culture and heritage of our area. Some of these events may require
a short drive, but they all have something to offer your entire family. There
are so many from which to choose that you might want to use our map on pages
36-37 to chart your course.
Don’t hold back; tell us how you really feel about 400 Edition. We love receiving feedback from our readers and advertisers. Call us at 706-867-6455, toll free at 866-867-7557, or send an email.
