Bob's three years of retirement came to an end when he and wife Linda Merritt joined the 400 Edition team. With the pricing, distribution and focus set, the journey began and now you see the results in your hands.
Prior to moving to North Georgia in 1993, none of us were involved in advertising or journalism. A strange set of events was set into motion. The Merritts produced a newspaper for six years, retired from that and here they are in the sales/publishing business. What drives a person to do what we do is hard for a lot of folks to understand, but we love it.
Bob worked as a commercial printer for thirty years and sold printing for five years. He gave up the idea of retiring to his native Arkansas after purchasing land outside of Dahlonega. The Merritts are at home with friends in North Georgia and consider themselves blessed to be living, working and playing among the greatest people in the best part of Georgia. The Merritts are members of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville. Bob love to garden and plant a large vegetable garden almost every year, in addition to maintaining several large flower gardens. In his spare time Bob is writing a book. Bob sell s advertising for the magazine and writes several articles each month. Everyone has a story, and Bob's goal is to write as many as he can. |
