The 400 Edition Story Print E-mail

Ten years ago, Bob and Linda Merritt launched the North Georgia Star, a newspaper built to cover North Georgia...but only as far south as Alpharetta. They built the North Georgia Star at an astonishing rate and helped many local businesses through advertising and promotion. Four years, ago, the Merritts decided to sell their thriving business and retire.

After several years of traveling in their RV, the Merritts felt the rush of ink in their veins. With a little encouragement from their daughter, Beth Snider, and Carole Lee, longtime friend, and a lot of prayer, 400 Edition was founded.

Although we are a marketing and advertising company, designed to help local businesses grow, we founded 400 Edition upon the premise that the communities that dot GA400 are geographically close, but still very separated. We attempt to remind those in Fulton County that the Cleveland in White County is not actually in Tennessee. In the same manner, we hope to bring some of the inhabitants of more rural areas into the exciting treasures to be found "in town".

400 Edition attempts to knit these communities from Sandy Springs to Murphy, North Carolina together, highlighting the awesome natural, human, and business resources. We hope that over time, the GA400 drive will seem closer, and that something you see in 400 Edition makes your life a little better.
